The other day I greeted someone I hadn't seen in a long time with "hey, how's life treatin' ya these days?". As soon as the words spilled off my tongue my mind started asking why we say things that way. Why don't we say 'so, how are
you treatin' life these days?'. I know it's force of habit and a desire to be polite, but that doesn't mean we have to use it, does it?
Is the way life treats me more important than how I choose to treat it?
